Blessed are the Flexible

Blessed Are the Flexible

for they can be bent

Wait!

How does my attitude affect my cyber and data security!

Anyone who has worked around any computer over the ten years knows that change happens in tech faster than death or taxes. Inside any programmer, hardware developer, or any support person has built into their DNA.

That chromoson cluter is what gives that individual is called Flexiblity. The building blocks of that unique chromoson is patience. This is needed for when things don’t go right. Stepping back examining the situration finding the root cause and then make changes. Hopefully, after not to many test runs the end result has been accomplished.

I cannot think of one project or job that did not require change, or adjustments either at the beginning or some where along the path to completion. And there has been a few needed changes to be made after I thought the job was done.

I have found the attitude I approach those changes and/or adjustments will reflex upon how quickly and smoothly the job gets finished. In addition, the whole team’s attitude toward change will be seen my the customer. That obervation will affect future work from that customer and his recommendation of your work.

2018 is Finishing Off August

It has been almost a month since my last writing here. it has been a busy month. We got a good bit accomplished. A whole more to do. At the beginning when I set out to move Cussins Enterprises LLC from at computer service company to a web hosting and design company, I thought it would be something we could during the slow period. That is the farest from the truth. The web hosting part is going to be our major focus and computer repair will be something I will to get out of the office and relax.

That we have accomplish so far:

  • We the the hosting interface automate. We still have a few cliches. I can tell you it is very secure system, I even trouble logging into the back end.
  • The remodel of the whole CussinsEnterprises.com website. We still have more content coming, and a lot tools for you and your home and business.
  • We are not an affillate of Eleqant Themes. A couple years ago I was introduced to them, In the past year have started using them exclusivily for websites. Now Engant Themes is going to pay me to use and recommend them. This I have been doing for quite some time, anyway.
Divi WordPress Theme

Plans for the rest of this year

  • We are running specials on different service and products each month. I am going to work toward giving you and different money saving deal each month, with that months discount code.
  • We are putting together a Resource Library. In it there will be how-to’s, as well as links to online tools picture editors, and security scans for your website.
  • In the next couple days I am should be able to announce 24/7 support. that means you can call when I am sleeping and talk to a knowledgable person.

I know it doesn’t look like much but to have one system talking to another system at the correct time, is not hard. Then you add in the privacy regulations like the GDPR and security practices to keep everyone’s data safe. There is a lot and time consuming.

However. I believe it is all going to be worth it. I want to have together a product that we can be proud of, but a product you will want to have. I know I have some pretty stiff competition with other hosting companies, but in a few years they will be taking notes from our playj book.

WordPress Where to Begin

Over the years I have worked with people who insisted on having their website look a certain way. The content was either over baring too much or not updating and fresh. Then they would look at me a say, “Why don’t people come to my website and buy my goods?”

I have tried to explain that what looks good to them (because they created it) may not be attractive to search engines and people who surf the internet.

The first rule before building any website is look at the compition. What is working for them and what is not. I am not saying copy their websites, but get a feel as to what works. Ask prospective customers what they like to see and what turns them off. Then build from it. You can always to what is known as A/B test later.

There are a few basic that will make a website. Realize these will not make you website instantly successful. But it will get you pointed in the right direction.

Be Personalable

Let the visitors see who you are. A picture or two of you and your team goes a long ways. They see real people. Seeing real people happily working goes a lot further than shapes, colors and bunch of words.

Capture who is visiting

Get people to give you their email address for a free PDF or discount coupon. This tells you you have something they want. Then you send them a an announcement or newsletter, keeping that connection alive.

Mobile Friendly

Every website these days not only should look good on you desktop or laptop computer, but on your tablet and cell phone. The reason being more and more people are using their smart cell phone for surfing the internet, doing research and making purchases.

I have often attended training for web development and design. They would say, “Mobile First”. Meaning design your website for mobile devices first then for the desktop and laptop.
