Building a Website
From a top level view there are three main stages in building a website.
1. The Planning stage – This is the most important because it here everyone get a picture of the finished product.
2. Assembling Stage – Stage two is the actural building and testing is made.
3. Progressing – The website is built and customer signs off as completed. However, this is where fine tuning, and adjustsment take place. The work on a website should never be completed.
Planning
The old saying, “Proper Planning, Prevents, Poor, Performance” old more true with web design and building. Before any actual work begins the target audience and what kind of reaction it to be made by them. Then framing, color schema, pictures and content can be decided upon.
Fact Finding Questions
Anyone who comes to us expressing a need for a website. We immediately print up a little questionaire we put together. This questionaire is designed to serve two purposes. One, it helps understand what the customer wants in the light of a website. Two, The questionaire helps the customer see what is involved in building a quiality website.
Templates
We use WordPress as the core for our websites. The reason for this it gives us a good foundation for websites across a wide range of trades and functions.
On top of the WordPress core goes a template. There hundreds upon hundreds of theme themplates. Many of these templates can be customize with color and functionality.
Gathering Content
The picturess, graphics, and texts is the tells the message of a website. The color schema can attract or repel visitors to the website.
The visi who stick around start reading words. Misspelled and bad grammer is the next thing they notice. A visitors impression of your website may be great template and color schema, Then they read your content and go elsewhere.
Assembling
This is where the frame of the website is built. The sheetrock, paint, and trim is added. Sometime what is decided upon is the planning stage doesn’t look so good when it s put together. Here is where those change are made.
